Mahalia Murphy is one of the lynchpins of the Buildcorp Wallaroos backs and was impressive in her two Test matches against New Zealand in 2018. Originally from the Australian Sevens program, Murphy represented Australia at the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea. Since then she has proven herself to be a valuable member of both programs.
In 2017 Murphy was selected for the Buildcorp Wallaroos squad alongside Sevens teammates Shannon Parry and Sharni Williams for the 2017 Women's World Cup in Dublin, Ireland.
Continuing to fly the flag for both Sevens and XVs in 2018, Mahalia re-joined the Buildcorp Wallaroo’s squad in 2018 to take on New Zealand. Murphy continued to shine on the field, bring her Sevens speed and agility to the game making several breaks and gaining tremendous metres for Australia.
Murphy played for Australia in Sevens, balancing game time with the NSW Waratahs Women Buildcorp Super W campaign.
