The third season of Buildcorp Super W is set to unleash this weekend, with the return of the competition kicking off at AAMI Park in Melbourne with the Rebels hosting NSW Waratahs Women in a double header clash.

Players gathered in Canberra today for the official launch of the third season of the competition, encouraging fans to #StandUp and get behind their Buildcorp Super W team in 2020 by heading along or watching every match LIVE.

All matches will be broadcast live on Kayo Sports, RUGBY.com.au and the Rugby Xplorer app, while FOX SPORTS Australia will air every double header clash.

NSW Waratahs Women will be looking to go for a threepeat when the women in blue start their campaign having won the last two finals against Queensland in 2018 (16-13) and 2019 (8-5).

Just six points has separated the two sides across the two finals with the 2018 clash going to golden point extra time.

The five-round schedule for 2020 features six blockbuster battles to be staged as double-headers with Vodafone Super Rugby matches in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.\

Once again, the top three teams will advance to the finals, with a two v three play-off to determine who advances to the Final against the to-placed team at the end of the home-and-away season.

Rugby Australia Chief Executive, Raelene Castle said: “In its second season Buildcorp Super W went from strength to strength and culminated with another thrilling final between NSW and Queensland, showcasing the skill and physicality of these great athletes.

“In 2019 we saw a new generation of players stand up across the competition and many were rewarded with higher honours, with 11 new players pulling on the Buildcorp Wallaroos jersey on the back of their performances in Buildcorp Super W.

“The success of the competition has also led to double-digit growth in female participation over the first two years of existence and as the competition grows, we expect this number to continue to rise.

“The challenge for the class of 2020 is back it up and go one better as the standard of the competition and rivalries continue to grow.

“On behalf of Rugby Australia I wish our five Buildcorp Super W teams the best of luck for their 2020 campaign.”

Buildcorp Managing Director, Tony Sukkar AM said: “As the third Buildcorp Super W season kicks-off, Buildcorp is proud to see the women and men of each club at work, standing side-by-side to share the limelight, double headers and pride in the jersey.

"The Buildcorp Super W continues to play an important role in increasing the quality, professionalism and pathway participation of the women’s game across Australia.”
