Australia's youngest-ever Test debutant Caitlyn Halse is among the latest four players to re-sign on new Wallaroos national contracts.

The 19-year-old joins Katalina Amosa, Atasi Lafai and Faliki Pohiva in re-committing to Rugby Australia as the squad continues to build ahead of the 2026 Test season.

Halse made her international debut aged 17 and added more history in August by becoming the youngest Australian to debut at a Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Halse produced four tries in four games during the tournament and will enter her third international season with 15 Tests under her belt.

General Manager of Women’s Rugby Jilly Collins said Halse’s re-signing was a key part of the puzzle with the 2029 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Australia on the horizon.

“Caitlyn is one of the most exciting young players in Australian rugby,” Collins said.

“She brings immense value to our squad, not just with her skills on the field but through the energy she embodies.

“We are delighted to have her locked in. She is a crucial part of our future as we build towards the 2029 World Cup.”

Promising hooker Amosa is also considered a star of the future after a highly successful 2025 season with the Wallaroos following a strong Super Rugby Women’s campaign.

The younger sister of Wallabies hooker Brandon Paenga-Amosa, Katalina played nine of 11 Tests in 2025 to announce herself on the international scene.

“Kat had a meteoric rise, moving from Super Rugby Women’s to the Wallaroos squad on the back of her outstanding form,” Collins said.

“She is now an exciting player we expect to be integral to the Wallaroos team in the years to come.”

Lafai re-signs with the Wallaroos program following an unfortunate season-ending knee injury in February during a Waratahs pre-season trial.

Prior to that the 31-year-old was a mainstay in the Wallaroos squad throughout the 2024 season and is on track to return to the field in 2026.

“While Atasi missed the season due to injury, she is absolutely someone we wanted to keep,” Collins said.

“She is a strong lock and we are confident she can return to her very best. We’re delighted she’s staying with the squad.”

Pohiva is a barnstorming prop who managed eight Tests in her maiden season in gold, including a first World Cup.

The Blacktown Scorpions junior has had an enormous 12 months of development after returning to the sport following the birth of her first child in 2023.

“Faliki demonstrated tremendous growth in her debut year and still has so much more to offer the Wallaroos,” Collins said.

“She has already proven herself to be a damaging player and she has the potential to become one of the world’s best props.”

The Wallaroos are in a contracting period for the 2026 Test season with the international schedule to be announced soon.
