The Wallaroos and Fijiana will play for the inaugural Vuvale Bowl trophy on Saturday as the two nations prepare to meet in Fiji for the first time in women’s rugby history at HFC Bank Stadium (3:00pm AEST).

Both squads joined Fiji's Deputy Prime Minister Manoa Kamikamica, Australian High Commissioner Peter Roberts and Rugby Australia CEO Phil Waugh at the Australian High Commission in Suva on Thursday for a formal welcoming.

General Manager of Women’s Rugby Jilly Collins said:  "This beautiful trophy is more than just an accolade; it symbolises the deepening bond between our two nations, which thrives on and off the rugby field.

"In recent years, we have witnessed the Australian Government's commitment to Fijian rugby through the PacificAus Sports program, further strengthening the ties between our rugby-loving countries.

“This Saturday in Suva marks a pivotal moment, as our national women’s teams take to the field in what promises to be a historic clash.

"The introduction of the Vuvale Bowl elevates this encounter into something truly special."

The Wallaroos have played Fijiana three times previously on home soil for a 3-0 record in their favour and will be looking to start their 2025 international season strong ahead of the Pacific Four series.
