Samoan-born Cecilia Smith, who grew up in Leeton, has been around the Wallaroos set up for a couple of years now, having been on the radar of selectors for an extended period after dealing with injuries. Smith made her debut against the Black Ferns in 2022. She is a mother to daughter Ruby, who inspires her to keep playing. Smith was named Super W player of the year in 2023 and took over the Queensland Reds captaincy in 2024.
