Emily Chancellor started playing rugby when she was 21 after previously being a netballer and swimmer.
An avid rugby fan, Chancellor tried out at university and after loving the experience has played ever since.
Chancellor represented Australia for the first time against New Zealand in 2018, where she eventually took out Wallaroos player of the year, after she was previously ruled out of the inaugural competition with a foot fracture.
She eventually made her Waratahs debut against the Brumbies the following season and has been a mainstay ever since in the sky blue.
Chancellor has played for the Harlequins in the UK's Premier 15s and for the Mie Pearls in Japan.
Off the field she graduated from The University of Sydney with a Master of Management in 2015.
Chancellor was on the comeback trail after rupturing her ACL in Round 1 of Super Rugby Women's in 2024.
She made her return for the Wallaroos against Fijiana in Suva, playing in all 11 Tests in 2025 including a second Rugby World Cup.
She became the 19th captain of the Wallaroos against Wales in July following an injury to Siokapesi Palu.
Chancellor continued the captaincy for four matches, including two as a co-captain at the Rugby World Cup, before Palu's return.
