Georgina Friedrichs was born in Zimbabwe and moved with her family to Toowoomba in Queensland when she was eight.
Friedrichs had a touch football background and started playing Rugby Sevens when she was 18.
She quickly made an impact and was called up to make her debut for the Australian team in 2016, spending the next three years as an important member of the squad.
It was in 2018 when she suffered a stress fracture in her hip which threatened her career. She spent six months on the sidelines and was on crutches for 10 weeks.
Friedrichs was determined to get back on the field with her resilience making her one of the toughest in the game.
She transitioned to 15s following her return to the field and made her Super Rugby Women's debut for the Queensland Reds in 2019.
A move to Sydney then saw Friedrichs switch to the NSW Waratahs where she's spent the past five seasons. She made her international debut for the Wallaroos against Fiji in 2022, with a World Cup appearance following shortly after.
Friedrichs featured in every game for the Wallaroos in 2024 at centre as she strives towards World Cup selection in 2025.
